Planting Day - 5 July

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED.

This Sunday 5 July, 2500 trees are going in the ground for the Haakarimata - Te Otamanui bird corridor project.

Over the past 3 years in Te Kowhai, an area of native planting has been establishing to

help build a bird corridor between the western Haakarimata range and the Te Otamanui lagoon in the east and lake Rotokauri in the south east to aid native birds moving between these areas.

After some amazing support from the Waipa Rere Noa trust donating the trees they are now ready to commence planting the 3rd stage of this project and would like to invite any keen volunteers who would like to plant some trees.

Join us this Sunday at 74 Richards Rd Te Kowhai on Sunday the 5th of July at 9:30.

We will be pre-drilling holes to plant the trees but please bring a spade if you can.

You will need some sturdy footwear (some wet areas to plant).

In case of wet weather, we will postpone the planting to the same time on Sunday the 12th - updates on facebook.
